I want to help you be confident in yourself, but I also want you to know that life isn't all highs. There will be bad days, and that's normal.

Positive thinking is important, but so is being realistic and allowing yourself the respect of feeling all of your feelings.

There are times when we feel overwhelmed and uncertain. We all have these moments, and I've certainly been experiencing them lately. But I wanted to share with you some of the things I've learned and the progress I've made throughout this process.

I think it's important to share this stuff because there's a lot of toxic positivity out there, especially in the personal development world. People try to act like you're not allowed to have negative emotions or down days, which makes you feel really crap and like you're alone in your experience which is not helpful.

I think that expectation and that pressure to have our feelings and emotions together all of the time is honestly setting us all up for failure.

I quite often have friends and even clients voice message me when they are having one of those days and I am so proud of anyone who can acknowledge their feelings and just feel them.

I know that sharing is something that's really hard to do. Sometimes we feel like we have to bury it down and we have to pretend everything's okay because if we don't, and if we let the top off or if we show one sign of weakness, people will think less of us.

I believe that it's okay to fall apart. It's not as bad as you think it is.

I've felt this way in life before and I'm sure I'll feel it again. It's okay to feel that way.

We're all human, and sometimes it's easy to compare ourselves to others and feel like we're not doing enough. But it's important to remember that everyone's journey is different.

I've had so many people in my ear lately. And these are people who are all very well-intentioned but it's made me quite overwhelmed. For a moment I let their comments, thoughts, and opinions cloud my own judgement.

We need to remember that we know what is best for us. When we seek validation or approval from others, it can have the opposite effect. This can lead to confusion, conflict, and feeling out of alignment. This is how I felt. Honestly, none of it was helpful and it didn't feel good to me.

When I felt this way I was thankfully reminded of a quote from Ed Milet that says, "this too becomes part of your story."

I honestly just love this concept, that when things are going so freaking good like you've got all the highs, that you're on top of the world, that becomes part of your story, right?

Then when you have these lows, these times when you're really stressed out, these times when there's just too much going on and you don't know where to start and you don't know who to turn to and you don't know what advice to take, that too becomes part of your story.

So when you're feeling overwhelmed there are four key things to remember.

1) All of your feelings are valid

2) You don't need to keep them secret, sharing your feelings gives you power

3) When you're overwhelmed ask yourself if you're taking on others opinions too much

4) This too becomes part of your story
